We are asked nearly every day about the process for sending us story ideas or becoming a USA TODAY College writer. It’s really very simple.
We maintain a list of email address of those interested in becoming a USA TODAY College contributing writer. Every 30-40 days, we send an email to everyone on that list, asking for one or two ideas. We set a deadline and ask that brief descriptions of those ideas be e-mailed to us. A small USA TODAY College team (always including at least one student) reviews the ideas and chooses the ones we’d like to have turned into articles.
There are no age restrictions, you don’t have to be a current college student or have attended college, for that matter.
Good ideas, written by those who have a passion for the college experience. That’s our writer policy.
