The 2010 – 2011 School Year marks our 20th year with Visions! Our Visions teachers and the Air Force Association have made Visions an education program with great impact and success. USA TODAY Education was recently honored with the AFA Chairman’s Aerospace Education Award for long term commitment to aerospace education making a significant impact across the nation. To date, 13 million students guided by approximately 24,000 teachers have been encouraged and motivated to learn about science and technology through the Visions program.
Announcing e-Visions for the 2010 – 2011 Visions Program
We are pleased to announce this year there are choices Chapters may select and offer for their sponsored classrooms. Choices include the regular print copy of USA TODAY, OR e-Visions, which is the digital version of USA TODAY’s edition for classrooms.
Watch this tutorial to see how the e-Visions work.
The advantages of the e-Visions format are the usability and effectiveness of this new platform for delivery of STEM news and Visions lessons for students and teachers. Teachers will now be able to project the e-Visions digital USA TODAY newspaper on their interactive whiteboards or classroom projectors and offer student licenses for home use. This technology alone creates a new and exciting learning environment for students and teachers.
Special features of the e-Visions digital USA TODAY newspaper include:
- Exact replica of the USA TODAY newspaper, featuring interactive and extra exclusive content
- Ready to read by 5:30 a.m. ET every weekday delivered to teacher’s email inbox
- Searchable features on past USA TODAY STEM-related articles
- Easily read, email articles, share lessons and save articles for future reference
- Featuring interactive snapshots/graphs, video reports and editorial highlights
- Listen to articles with text to speech audio
- Direct links to Visions and AFA websites as well as teacher lessons
- Ability to promote Cyber Patriot Programs, teacher grants, etc.
- Video embedded in the e-Visions copy.
- Spanish language conversion on news articles for ESL learners.
