These Stat Rat math activities will assist educators in using USA TODAY as a "real world" text that helps students put numbers to work in their daily lives. These activities are designed to enhance middle and high-school level math curriculum and correlate with the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Curriculum and Evaluation Standards For School Mathematics.
As our society becomes increasingly technological, the need for mathematical literacy becomes more critical. Recognizing this, USA TODAY challenges students to explore, investigate, conjecture, reason and apply a variety of mathematical concepts to everyday life. These unique resources assist instructors in creating a productive and stimulating learning environment. |
