In his column on Friday, June 5, USA TODAY founder Al Neuharth evaluated America’s involvement in seven wars — ranging from World War II to the current war in Afghanistan. Neuharth gave his opinion about whether or not the loss of lives and costs of each war were justified.

Finally, choose another war in which America has been involved and briefly research it using an encyclopedia or textbook. Again, decide whether becoming involved in the war was the right decision.
