USA TODAY College is now accepting applications for fall 2013 interns.
USA TODAY College is a digital publication run inside the USA TODAY brand written by student journalists, like you. It allows college students and interested professionals to keep a pulse on the news from a student’s perspective.
Applicants must be located within traveling distance of USA TODAY headquarters in McLean, Va., and must receive college credit. Hours are flexible.

We are looking for two interns, one with an editing background and another with a design and layout background.

USA TODAY College fall intern candidate qualifications:
•A strong and critical writer with the ability to help edit our content
•A very creative mind
•Current/previous work for a newspaper/magazine
•Knowledge of current and emerging social media platforms
•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
The editing intern would be responsible for:
•Editing and writing content to be placed on usatodaycollege.com and affiliates
•Promoting content/initiatives through social media platforms
•Collecting content for and creating our weekly newsletter
•Researching potential advertising/content partners
•Corresponding with current and potential student writers
•Wordpress experience is a plus, but not required
The design and layout intern would be responsible for:
•Assisting the editors with the layout and design of usatodaycollege.com and affiliates
•InDesign experience is a must for this position
The technical details:
•This position is unpaid, but you will receive a travel stipend of $10/day
•You will have to provide your own housing and transportation (we are located in McLean, Va.)
•You must receive college credit for this internship
•Hours are flexible around class schedules
