Players from the University of Dayton and Gardner-Webb’s baseball teams found a fun way to keep their arms loose when a winter storm quickly dumped snow on the field during their matchup in Boiling Springs, N.C. on Saturday.
Both teams were locked in a scoreless tie when a weather delay was called in the sixth inning, suspending the game. Perhaps it was the Journey song being played over the stadium loudspeaker or maybe just the realization that they weren’t likely to continue the game action, but both squads figured that they’d at least try to walk off the field with a victory of some sort.
The weather ended up cancelling Sunday’s matchup between the schools, forcing Saturday’s game to be officially credited as a tie.
