John Stewart or Stephen Colbert?
This is a hard one, since I love both of them, but I would have to go with Stephen Colbert. Let’s face it, Nation, the character of Stephen Colbert is hysterical; plus, any prospective journalist has to admire Colbert’s undying dedication to truthiness in the news.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
I think I would like the power of invisibility. I’m a pretty nosey person, so the ability to become invisible would really help me get any inside scoop!
If you could travel to any country, where would you go?
I really want to travel to Spain. Let’s see if all of those years of Spanish pay off.
One of the most quirky things about you is…
I will relate anything back to a book, film, television show, etc. This is to fulfill my dreams of becoming more like Lorelai and Rory Gilmore who also incorporate pop culture references into their everyday vernacular.
What was the last (non-required) book that you read?
Nemesis by Jo Nesbø. If you like the Millennium Trilogy, you’ll like Nesbø’s Harry Hole series.
In your opinion, who is the most influential pop culture icon alive?
Meryl Streep. She is undoubtedly the greatest actress of our time.
What was the first thing that you wanted to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a pediatrician. Let’s just say AP Biology helped me to realize that there was no way I could endure undergraduate studies in Biology, not to mention four years of medical school. I do love my Grey’s Anatomy, though!
